Pine Tip Blight Disease Treatment in Fort Worth, TX. Call (817) 502-9402.

The causes for Pine Tip Blight. Pine tip blight, also known as pine needle blight and Diplodia tip blight, is a fungal disease transmitted by the Diplodia fungus that targets pine trees. Fort Worth arbor care professionals are accustomed to encountering this disease in the residential areas where beautiful pine trees grace the neighborhoods. This destructive fungus survives through the winter months, invades the tree through damages and wounds, and then becomes the most active and obvious during wet weather and spring when new growth first begins to appear. It's destruction soon becomes clearly evident, as new needle growth is notably shorter, yellows, and eventually turns tan and brown. All new annual needle growth is usually killed, and in the worst conditions, even branches are destroyed.

The damage caused by this disease begins to manifest at the lower part of the tree and moves upward. Very young seedling trees are a target of pine needle blight, and older fir trees thirty years old or more are especially threatened if these older trees are weakened from having been subjected to stress or physical damages. This deadly fungus prefers mature residential trees, such as ones common in established Fort Worth areas, and rarely targets firs younger than fifteen years. Do not delay in contacting an arbor care professional if you suspect your pine tree may be suffering from pine needle blight!

The Diagnosing of Pine Tip Blight

Diagnosis is easy and quick for a highly-trained Fort Worth certified arborist. In addition to the excessive needle loss, the fungus is visually revealed by tiny, black dots resembling black pepper that show on infected pine needles, pine cones, and infected bark. The tree service professional will examine the needles, bark, and cones closely for these small specks, as these are a telltale indication of the presence of Diplodia fungus infestation. These dots are frequently seen on the fallen needles and cones covering the ground, making it extremely important to rake and remove all dead needles and dropped cones to avoid further reproduction of the threatening infectious disease. Small resin-like droplets may also be present on dead needles and the tree company who employs an experienced plant pathologist will carefully examine them to determine if there is the presence of these droplets. Upon positive confirmation, a Fort Worth arbor care professional will advise you on the proper treatment to restore the tree's health and develop a schedule for regular maintenance to protect the health of the fir.

The best treatment for Pine Tip Blight Disease

Professional direction from the best Fort Worth arborist is critical in battling pine tip blight and to minimize and prevent it if you are about to begin establishing a new outdoor environment. Select fir varieties that are less susceptible to Pine tip blight and take proper measures to be certain the soil has adequate drainage and has not been compacted by construction. These steps will ensure that the roots receive proper nourishment. Pruning slightly infected limbs can be effective providing tools are sterilized and damaged limbs are removed from the area by an experienced tree company. Deep root fertilization will ensure firs with proper drainage remain strong and resistant. Fungicides aid in controlling pine tip blight disease and should be applied on a regular schedule by professional arborists. Contact and utilize the best Fort Worth arborist who will present you with the maintenance plan and schedule to not only eliminate this undesirable, threatening fir disease, but also prevent it from reappearing.

OUR REVIEWS

These guys were great. Very professional and knocked out a big job in just a few short hours. They clearly knew what they were doing and went above and behind to carefully analyze the health of each tree, and what was needed. As opposed to trimming and moving on. I highly recommend. They did my neighbor as well.

Very happy in my dealings with Henry and his crew. Henry came out on short notice to provide some recommendations on trimming and keeping one of my pecan trees healthy. His crew was able to come out a couple days later and were very professional and efficient. They even took the bigger limbs that were removed and cut them down for firewood and stacked the wood. Will definitely work with them again for future tree care.

Had just closed on the new house with beautiful landscape to discover my cypress trees dying and other trees on the property looking ill. Called two other arborist before I discovered Henry. Though there was no saving my already dying trees; the others were diagnosed, treated and saved. Henry was not only knowledgeable but also professional, friendly and extremely reasonable. It is almost shocking to find people like him these days. Highly recommended to all!
