Tree Health Tips Can Save Your Sick Tree.

Tips for tree health

First understand that when a tree is in its first two years of growth its at its most vulnerable point. This is when you as a tree owner can take the time to help it along. Once a tree has reached a mature age there's very little you can do because a tree has its own way of sustaining itself. Just think of all the trees in the world that no one feeds, waters, fertilizes, or prunes. Mother nature has its own way of helping them stay healthy.

What you can do at this point is help identify particular improper growth in branches and in some case change some of its natural features by pruning or helping identify or otherwise prevent disease.

Here are some tips for tree health you can do some or all but remember that your trees are a big investment!

Don't over do it: Remember that the trees were here well before you were born and will be here long after you die!  If you do some of these steps or all of these steps just do them a little at a time. Don't over do any of them at any one season to much love is actually a bad thing.

Yard work: When doing yard work plan ahead, look at the roots system of your trees. Cutting the roots with a garden tool is like cutting a vain in your body. This could have negative effects on the health of the tree.

Parking Vehicles: Try your best not to park any vehicles under the shade of the tree. Over time this could compact the soil making it hard for the trees roots to grow.

Weed eater use: When using a weed eater, it's important to be careful not to chip off the bark of the tree. Keep in mind that a tree's bark is its skin and helps protect it from disease.

Mulch: Mulching the bases of you trees is a very important step and can help with a variety of things. Protection during winter and summer acts as a buffer to the root system. Holds moisture better and protects roots from lawn mower blades and weed eater wires. Looks great for your landscaping and brings value to your property.

Over watering: Will drown the root system and kill the tree.

Over fertilizing or not the right type of fertilizer: Will bring all kinds of problems and could shorten the life span of the tree.

Pruning: Knowing when and how is vital! Most important is understand that with fully grown trees there's not much you have to do other than to remove dead branches or trunk shoots.

Knowledge is power:  Knowing your trees put you ahead of the pack! Understanding and identifying disease is essential  to the health of your trees. OUR REVIEWS

These guys were great. Very professional and knocked out a big job in just a few short hours. They clearly knew what they were doing and went above and behind to carefully analyze the health of each tree, and what was needed. As opposed to trimming and moving on. I highly recommend. They did my neighbor as well.

Very happy in my dealings with Henry and his crew. Henry came out on short notice to provide some recommendations on trimming and keeping one of my pecan trees healthy. His crew was able to come out a couple days later and were very professional and efficient. They even took the bigger limbs that were removed and cut them down for firewood and stacked the wood. Will definitely work with them again for future tree care.

Had just closed on the new house with beautiful landscape to discover my cypress trees dying and other trees on the property looking ill. Called two other arborist before I discovered Henry. Though there was no saving my already dying trees; the others were diagnosed, treated and saved. Henry was not only knowledgeable but also professional, friendly and extremely reasonable. It is almost shocking to find people like him these days. Highly recommended to all!
