Texas Root Rot Disease in Fort Worth, TX. Call (817) 502-9402.

Main Causes of Root Rot. Texas root rot (Phymatotrichopsis omnivore) is a deadly fungal tree disease prevalent in Fort Worth and the surrounding cities. This highly-feared pathogen affects plants as well and is also rampant throughout the southern and western regions of the United States, where it is often referred to as simply root rot. Because the advancement of the dreaded fungus is nearly impossible to halt, arbor care professionals are keenly watching for indications of its presence. Root rot is a soil-borne fungus and its spores multiply rapidly during the winter months in moist soil with high alkaline and low organic content. It thrives in warm, humid weather and soil that may be textured with amounts of sand or clay particles. It is not airborne and cannot be spread by insects, but rather, depends solely on soil for its reproduction and invasive spread.

Root rot fungus normally resides in soil at depths between two to six feet and elevation levels below 5000 feet. As warmer, wet spring weather arrives, the aggressive disease first begins to reveal visible indications of its occupation. By the time the weather becomes warmer during the summer months, the deadly destruction caused by root rot is clearly apparent. Infected trees and plants frequently die very shortly after this; therefore, it is of extreme importance that the best Fort Worth arborist is contacted immediately to professionally diagnose the tree you have in question.

Diagnosis of Root Rot

If the tree appears weakened or is exhibiting yellowing leaves and thinning foliage, it should be promptly tested for proper drainage and compacted roots, as poor drainage and compaction make the root system more vulnerable for attack by this deadly fungal disease. Spreading rapidly from trees to plants, Texas root rot attacks hundreds of varieties popular in Fort Worth neighborhoods. Because there are no known methods that have been proven successful in curing infected trees and plants of this destructive pathogen, a professional diagnosis is imperative! An experienced plant pathologist will evaluate all visible symptoms and determine if they are indicative of root rot. Examination of the roots on the tree in question and surrounding plants are the deciding factor. Infected roots are entangled with reddish-brown strands and may also have black areas where the root system has already died. When root rot is confirmed, the certified arborist will present you with a personalized treatment and maintenance program to aid you in maintaining your beautiful outdoor living area.

Treatment for Texas Root Rot Disease

The best way to address this deadly plant for is to take proactive measures to prevent it from attacking your valuable trees! In the later stages of this deadly infection the tree may die suddenly, so don't delay in contacting a certified arborist immediately to schedule your free consultation! Trees and plants that are confirmed as infected must be professionally removed and disposed of to prevent further spread of the disease. Areas in your landscape will be analyzed and prepared for proper drainage and regular fertilization will be scheduled to protect the roots from susceptibility. Resistant tree and plant varieties may be added throughout your outdoor environment to ward off the spread of infection and eliminate your worries. Beautiful resistant varieties are readily available such as Burford holly, yaupon, Hawthorne, liriope, moss rose, morning glory and dozens more. This plan will be tailored for your specific needs by the best Fort Worth arborist and they will provide you with ongoing maintenance and care. Enacting a plan of action designed specifically for you is an absolute necessity to guarantee your outdoor living environment is protected and will provide you with many relaxing years of enjoyment!

OUR REVIEWS

These guys were great. Very professional and knocked out a big job in just a few short hours. They clearly knew what they were doing and went above and behind to carefully analyze the health of each tree, and what was needed. As opposed to trimming and moving on. I highly recommend. They did my neighbor as well.

Very happy in my dealings with Henry and his crew. Henry came out on short notice to provide some recommendations on trimming and keeping one of my pecan trees healthy. His crew was able to come out a couple days later and were very professional and efficient. They even took the bigger limbs that were removed and cut them down for firewood and stacked the wood. Will definitely work with them again for future tree care.

Had just closed on the new house with beautiful landscape to discover my cypress trees dying and other trees on the property looking ill. Called two other arborist before I discovered Henry. Though there was no saving my already dying trees; the others were diagnosed, treated and saved. Henry was not only knowledgeable but also professional, friendly and extremely reasonable. It is almost shocking to find people like him these days. Highly recommended to all!
