Winter Mistletoe Removal Cedar Elm Trees Crowley, TX

Picture
Winter Mistletoe, while romanticized in holiday folklore, poses a considerable risk to Cedar Elm trees in Crowley, TX. This parasitic plant absorbs water and nutrients from its host, which can lead to tree stress, decline, and even death if not appropriately managed.
Outlined below are steps to remove Winter Mistletoe effectively from Cedar Elm trees in Crowley, TX:
  1. Inspect Trees: Start the process by conducting a comprehensive inspection of the Cedar Elms for signs of Mistletoe. The plant forms round, dense clusters of green leaves and stems, typically towards the upper half of the tree.
  2. Pruning: Upon detecting Mistletoe, pruning is necessary. Use sharp pruning shear to cut as close as possible to the branch without injuring the tree. Winter, when trees are dormant, is the best time to prune as it reduces harm to the tree.
  3. Promote Tree Health: Besides Mistletoe removal, maintaining overall tree health is essential to prevent future infestations. A wellcared-for tree can better resist parasitic attacks. Ensure sufficient water for your Cedar Elms and consider using a slow-release fertilizer.
  4. Monitor the Trees: Continue to watch for Mistletoe even after removal. The plant can reappear from remaining bits of a previous infestation or seeds spread by birds.
  5. Consult Professionals: For severe infestations or large trees, engaging professional help is advised. A certified arborist or tree care services has the know-how, experience, and safety equipment to handle the Mistletoe removal correctly, reducing harm to the tree or yourself.
  6. Proper Disposal: Once removed, dispose of the Mistletoe correctly to prevent any further spread. Its parts should not come in contact with other trees or be left lying around, as birds could pick them up and spread them to other trees.
Through these measures: regular tree inspection, proper pruning practices, promoting tree health, continued monitoring, calling professionals when needed, and effective disposal actions, you'll be equipped to manage Winter Mistletoe in Cedar Elms in Crowley, TX effectively
Remember, Mistletoe is an indicator of a stressed tree. Addressing the overall health and care of your Cedar Elms will contribute to the successful eviction of the Mistletoe, allowing your trees to flourish and carry on as an integral part of Crowley’s landscape.

OUR REVIEWS

These guys were great. Very professional and knocked out a big job in just a few short hours. They clearly knew what they were doing and went above and behind to carefully analyze the health of each tree, and what was needed. As opposed to trimming and moving on. I highly recommend. They did my neighbor as well.

Very happy in my dealings with Henry and his crew. Henry came out on short notice to provide some recommendations on trimming and keeping one of my pecan trees healthy. His crew was able to come out a couple days later and were very professional and efficient. They even took the bigger limbs that were removed and cut them down for firewood and stacked the wood. Will definitely work with them again for future tree care.

Had just closed on the new house with beautiful landscape to discover my cypress trees dying and other trees on the property looking ill. Called two other arborist before I discovered Henry. Though there was no saving my already dying trees; the others were diagnosed, treated and saved. Henry was not only knowledgeable but also professional, friendly and extremely reasonable. It is almost shocking to find people like him these days. Highly recommended to all!
